Corporate governance is about accountability. To all of our stakeholders - investors, clients and Interpublic employees, around the world. By adopting best practices in corporate governance, we build confidence and trust with these key partners.
In 2002, we led our industry by becoming the first marketing services holding company to move to a board comprised of a majority of outside directors. We were also the first in our sector to install both a Presiding Director and a Chief Risk Officer. These and other initiatives resulted in our receiving strong corporate governance ratings in 2007 from Institutional Shareholder Services, the respected consultants to institutional shareholders.
Going forward, we remain committed to a continuing plan of action that will ensure that Interpublic remains in full compliance with current and proposed NYSE and SEC rules relating to corporate governance.
