McCann Creates Fonts For Social Justice

Designers spend months perfecting the right look for each letter in a font set. Companies often pay handsomely for just the right font to use in marketing or branding. Cyranos McCann and the Arrels Foundation, an organization that serves the homeless population of Barcelona, Spain, have joined together to make fonts a tool for social justice with their campaign, HomelessFonts.org. It takes the handwritten letters homeless people use on their signs and converts them into useable fonts. The funds collected through the project will be used to support the Arrels Foundation and their efforts to help the homeless in Barcelona.
