Hill Holliday has launched a new TV spot for long-time client Harvard Pilgrim in partnership with the Boston Red Sox that encourages fans to wear protective face masks. Christian Vazquez is featured showing the catcher’s mask that protects him when he’s playing, as well as a face mask that protects against the coronavirus. As he puts on the face mask, the spot matches cuts to portraits of Red Sox fans all wearing face masks. The sound of clapping and chanting “Let’s go Red Sox” builds to Harvard Pilgrim’s message and inspiring rallying cry “Let’s Go Red Sox Nation. Wear a mask.”
Since the Red Sox are spending their season in a bubble to protect players against the coronavirus, part of the spot was produced remotely. A drop kit was sent to the production team at Fenway Park and the director remote directed them and Vasquez via Zoom.
