Alex Hesz
Global Chief Strategy Officer
Alex Hesz is the Global Chief Strategy Officer for Interpublic Group, where he helps orchestrate top strategic talent around clients’ most valuable opportunities and pressing challenges — from AI and marketing transformation to balancing efficiency and effectiveness across Interpublic’s full suite of services. He works at the intersections of the group’s offerings, spanning media, creative, data, production, CRM, and PR, ensuring the connectivity that a central strategic relationship with clients can unlock for improved efficiency and effectiveness.
Before joining Interpublic, Alex served as EVP and Global CSO at Omnicom, working with global clients such as Volkswagen, Apple, AT&T, and Diageo. He was promoted to this role after over a decade at adam&eve. As CSO of adam&eveDDB, he oversaw strategy for the agency’s largest accounts, including Google, JetBlue, Peloton, Unilever, Deutsche Telekom, BlackRock, and Lloyds Banking Group. Eventually, he became CSO of Omnicom’s DDB network. During his tenure, adam&eveDDB was named Agency of the Decade at Cannes and by Campaign, making it the most awarded creative and effectiveness agency globally. Alex began his career at two of London’s most celebrated creative agencies, BBH and M&C Saatchi.
His work has won creative effectiveness awards including the Grand Effie, APG Grand Prix, IPA Grand Prix and the Cannes Grand Prix for Creative Effectiveness.
In addition to his corporate work, Alex is a published author, trustee of a major medical charity, and a political commentator who has written on political communications for The Times, The New European and Progressive Britain. He earned a double first-class degree in English from the University of Oxford, in part by debunking the myth that Eskimos have fifty words for snow — which they do not.
