Interpublic partnered with Acxiom, KINESSO and Mediahub to sponsor the ninth annual ColorComm conference. ColorComm Inc., one of the nation’s leading women’s platforms addressing diversity and inclusion across communications, advertising and media, hosted 400 attendees to explore the theme, “Reaching for More.”
Channing Martin, Chief Diversity and Social Impact Officer at Interpublic, moderated the panel, “Pitching with Purpose: Crafting Authentic and Impactful Marketing Narratives,” which included Brandi Pitts, SVP Brand Marketing & Media, Ulta Beauty; Joyce Turner, VP Strategic Partnership, Acxiom; and Tahira White, CEO and Founder, 19th and Park.
Panelists discussed how intentional diversity of experience can lead to more innovative and successful outcomes in business, especially in marketing and media, and highlighted how Interpublic’s Ulta pitch team leveraged varied perspectives, different lived experiences and unique skillsets to achieve success.
“We assembled a lot of diversity in that room…for one purpose, to deliver the best solution for Ulta Beauty. It was one of the best experiences because we had shown up as our Interpublic true selves, owning our diversity and being unapologetically individuals to get to the outcome,” said Turner.
The event also explored how businesses like Ulta are creating and leveraging authentic connections with current and future customers and how they expect agencies and creative partners to support this venture. The company’s The Joy Project exemplifies how aligning marketing narratives with brand purpose can create meaningful and impactful consumer experiences.
