The Martin Agency and Land O’Lakes Use Poetry to Showcase Farm Co-ops

Everyone knows Land O’ Lakes makes butter. But a lot of people don’t realize Land O’ Lakes is a farmer-owned co-op established in 1921, and is one of the largest producers of butter and cheese in the United States. Land O'Lakes has a unique farm-to-fork view of the food chain, from its WinField United crop inputs to its Purina animal feed to the dairy products on consumers’ tables. Land O’ Lakes worked with The Martin Agency to produce “The Farmer,” using a National Geographic team to capture Land O’ Lakes co-op farms across the country. They then combined the footage with an amazing poem by Amelia E. Barr called “The Farmer” to create the story of the farmers and help people understand that Land O’ Lakes is so much more than just butter.
