On the United Arab Emirates’ 50th National Day, FP7 McCann and the Dubai Astronomy Group partnered with Emirates NBD, a leading UAE-based banking group in the MENAT region, to celebrate the country’s vision, people, and future with an idea that elevates the nation to the stars.
The Emirates Constellation, which consists of seven stars to represent the seven Emirates of the UAE, is the first constellation in the world to be named after a nation. During the process of creating the constellation, FP7 McCann and the Dubai Astronomy Group studied the night sky until they identified a group of stars that captured the shape of the UAE.
“The UAE has achieved so much in just five decades and we hope that The Emirates Constellation will guide our future and inspire our people to continue to reach for the stars,” commented Moadh Bukhash, Chief Marketing Officer at Emirates NBD.
Launched as a film at the Expo 2020 in Dubai, “The Emirates Constellation” honors Sheikh Zayed, the founder of the UAE, and provides an astral rendition of the UAE’s national anthem, which reframes the nation’s traditional roots with a space operatic feel.
