McCann New York and McCann Poland’s Mastercard campaign “Where to Settle” won nine Lions at the 2023 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, including a Grand Prix in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a Gold in Sponsorship & Brand Partnership and Real-time Response, a Silver in Website/Microsites and Services/Business to Business, and a Bronze in Single Market Campaign, Data Integration and Real-time Response.
Mastercard’s “Where to Settle” supports millions of Ukrainian refugees who fled to Polish cities in response to the war with Russia. Understanding that shelters are extremely crowded, resulting in very large increases in rent and inflation, Mastercard launched a digital platform to help Ukrainians find places of refuge outside of big cities. The platform collects data from jobs, real estate markets, Mastercard spending insights and the Polish Central Statistical Office to inform its users. “Where to Settle” has been an extreme success so far, with a reported 20% of refugees in Poland using the Mastercard platform to improve their living conditions.
