McCann Colombia and Banco de Bogotá partnered with UNICEF to launch the first debit card in the world to be co-created with an NGO.
As a result of COVID-19, several Latin American economies collapsed, including Colombia’s economy, resulting in widespread hardship. Banco de Bogotá, one of the most important banks of Colombia, wanted to use its debit cards to combat the nation’s growing poverty gap.
The result was a debit card with a special donation system that converts the purchases of users, influencers and celebrities into new opportunities to help Colombian children. More than 15,000 new consumers started donating from launch day, raising $9,000 in the first week, and delivering over 210,000 new debit cards.
In the end, 82,000 kids were positively impacted by the campaign. It was awarded two silver awards at the LATAM Effies.
