MullenLowe Accra launched an animated series, “Kofi Kommando and Squad,” to inspire children to be positive change agents in health, sanitation, and education, particularly amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

The series includes five characters who are named after the five major Ghanian ethnic groups. Kofi is the group leader, and a very energetic young man who is always ready to offer good ideas. Kofi’s squad includes Adzo, a very smart and computer-literate young woman, Naa, who knows almost everyone in society, Issah, who’s very hygienic, smiley, and big-hearted, and Keku, who is cool, handsome and physically impaired.

The series launched in front of a crowd on August 3 in Accra, Ghana, where the Ghana Health Service, Ghana Education Service, UNICEF, the Embassy of Denmark, and the Canadian High Commissioner delivered opening remarks.

Other sponsors of the project included the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), the Canadian High Commission in Ghana as well as the Canadian Embassy in Ghana.
