Irene Whyte

Senior Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis and Corporate Development

Irene Whyte is Senior Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis and Corporate Development of IPG. Irene is responsible for managing the short and long-term budgeting, forecasting, and worldwide financial planning and incentives function, as well as corporate development, including acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic investments.

Irene has extensive experience executing mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, minority investments, and joint ventures across the globe. She partners closely with the management teams of IPG’s agencies to help them achieve their business objectives through strategic transactions. Since joining IPG in 2011, Irene has led cross-border negotiations, completing over 50 transactions in the U.S., Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Asia.

In 2018, Irene was part of IPG’s deal team tasked with executing the acquisition of Acxiom for $2.3 billion and was also responsible for leading the back office integration efforts. Subsequently, Irene managed the operational launch of Kinesso and Matterkind.

Prior to joining IPG, Irene spent five years in the private equity industry. As a Senior Associate at LLR Partners, she focused on growth equity investments in the business and consumer services sectors. Irene worked at General Atlantic where she focused on investments in the media, marketing, and telecommunications space. Irene began her career at Deutsche Bank.

Irene received her B.A. in finance and marketing from Georgetown University and her MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
