McCann Worldgroup has appointed Brendan Gaul as its Global Chief Entertainment Officer, bringing his original entertainment company, TRAVERSE32, from IPG Mediabrands to McCann’s clients and creative community. This move underscores McCann’s focus on building brands through long-form entertainment storytelling, creating deeper connections with audiences. Gaul will report directly to Daryl Lee, Global CEO of McCann and McCann Worldgroup, while continuing to serve as Global President of TRAVERSE32.
Returning to McCann, where he began his career in 2002 as an Art Director, Gaul brings a proven track record in developing entertainment properties, including the Cannes Lions Grand Prix-winning The Final Copy of Ilon Specht produced with McCann and BREAKWATER Studios, as well as projects like Dear Santa for the U.S. Postal Service and 5B for Johnson & Johnson. His return allows McCann to integrate Hollywood-style storytelling into brand campaigns, with TRAVERSE32’s team providing an on-demand resource for global creative teams to extend client work into entertainment and create culturally resonant, cinematic experiences.
Gaul noted, “It feels great to be back. McCann builds some of the most compelling brand platforms in the world, usually through iconic advertising and experiences. I’m excited to return to McCann and help our teams drive those platforms in new ways where entertainment becomes central to moving people towards the brands we work with.”
