Mediabrands Hosts Inaugural Sustainability Forum

To mark Earth Day, IPG Mediabrands hosted its inaugural Sustainability Forum where researchers, client partners, affiliates, and agency leaders discussed the role of advertising in mitigating the climate crisis. The day kicked off with a keynote address from world-renowned environmental scientist, Dr. Johnathan Foley Executive Director of Project Drawdown. Other speakers included Jemma Gould, IPG’s Chief Sustainability Officer, and Martin Bryan, Chief Sustainability Officer at IPG Mediabrands.

IPG Mediabrands announced several goals and partnerships at the forum. For example, the agency recently partnered with Scope 3 and has announced a goal to reduce emissions from programmatic media by 30% over the next year. Mediabrands also highlighted a partnership with AWorld and UN Act Now that encourages individual action on climate change. From Earth Day to World Environment Day, Mediabrands challenged employees to perform an action that benefited the environment, with a goal of reaching 2,023 total actions across the agency, which they achieved.
