To honor International Women’s Day, Interpublic hosted and took part in programming that delved further into the United Nations’ call to action to unlock equal rights, power and opportunities for all women and girls.
Interpublic served as this year’s Accessibility Sponsor for the NO MORE Global Technology Summit, during which Channing Martin, Interpublic’s Global Chief Diversity & Social Impact Officer, discussed the intersectionality of inclusion and technology, and its importance to Interpublic during a talk titled “Building Safer Futures, Responsible Innovation in the Fight Against Violence Towards Women.”
The Interpublic Women’s Leadership Network, Interpublic’s Business Resource Group for women and their allies, hosted an event centered around the topic of “Protection and Safety of Women and Girls in our Communities.”
Jemma Gould, Interpublic’s Chief Sustainability Officer, and Stephanie McKee, Vice President of Human Resources, opened the event with welcoming remarks, which were followed by a message from the APAC offices recapping their local International Women’s Day celebrations. Carol Haynesworth, Global Chair of Interpublic Women’s Leadership Network and Executive Director of Impact & Inclusion at Interpublic, then facilitated a conversation on the protection and safety of women and girls globally.
Representing various perspectives and lived experiences, the global panelists included Czarina Campo, Financial Analyst and DE&I Lead at FCB Canada; Greta de Stradis, Manager Media Investment at IPG Mediabrands Zürich; Luisana Montoya, Sustainability and DE&I Manager at McCann Worldgroup Chile; Nadia Makarov, Senior Strategist at FCB Toronto; and Zakiya Noel, Benefits Manager at IPG Mediabrands U.S.
The program concluded with Bronwyn Sweeney and Loren Cook, Group Creative Directors at MullenLowe U.K., who shared a case study on their “Language of Love” campaign for the NO MORE Foundation.
In partnership with LinkedIn, on Wednesday, March 19, Interpublic’s DEI and Social Impact team held a screening of “Lilly,” the 2024 drama film on Lilly Ledbetter’s historic legal battle for pay equity, followed by a panel discussion exploring pay equity and workplace discrimination.
