IPGLBT Releases Spirit Day Guide for Bullying Prevention

17 Oct 2018

Companies

October is National Bullying Prevention Month, a time to reaffirm our commitment to keep all youth safe from bullying. Because LGBTQ+ youth disproportionately face bullying and harassment*, we celebrate Spirit Day on October 18th specifically to recognize our LGBTQ+ youth and stand with them.

Following their success with the Pride Guide, IPGLBT National created a Spirit Day Guide to share important information with you about bullying and information on how to participate on Spirit Day.

On October 18, IPG employees are invited to show solidarity by “going purple” for the day, based on the purple stripe in the Pride flag which stands for spirit. Here are a few quick ways to show your support:

  • Wear purple and take selfies or group pictures with your purple-clad co-workers and friends for social media platforms. (We recommend the hashtags #IPGhasSpirit and #SpiritDay)
  • Change your profile picture on social media to incorporate a purple background
  • Change your email signature to purple for the day

Help us work to ensure that our youth have a safe place to get an education and that we build inclusive work environments that will be ready for them when they enter the workforce.
