At the 2021 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, IPG CFO Ellen Johnson participated alongside ITV’s Clare Phillips and S4Capital’s Sir Martin Sorrell in “Further, Faster, Together: Putting the Climate Pledge into Action,” a panel moderated by Amazon’s Vice President, Worldwide Sustainability, Kara Hurst. The group discussed the changes their companies are making to honor The Climate Pledge, which IPG formally joined in June, and the importance of innovating toward a shared goal.

The Climate Pledge, co-founded by Amazon and Global Optimism, is a commitment to reaching net-zero carbon across IPG’s business by 2040, 10 years ahead of the Paris Agreement. As a signatory to the pledge, IPG joined more than 100 other businesses committed to working together to reduce global emissions. IPG’s other recent commitments also include setting an emissions reduction target through The Science Based Targets initiative and souring 100% renewable electricity by 2030.
