Rounding out Black History Month, IPG’s Black Employee Network (BEN) hosted a hybrid panel event featuring C-suite executives who shared insights on the state of the advertising and marketing industry. Facilitated by Channing Martin, Chief Diversity and Social Impact Officer at IPG, the panel “The Power of Intentionality and the Future of Black Creatives: What’s Your Role?” included Jerri DeVard, Founder of the Black Executive CMO Alliance (BECA); Danny Robinson, Chief Creative Officer at The Martin Agency; and Shannon Washington, Chief Creative Officer at R/GA.
This dynamic conversation with these esteemed industry leaders highlighted their career successes, the value of intentional leadership, and the evolving expectations from clients in this digital age. While informing the importance of allyship in increasing Black representation across the C-suite, attendees also learned how diverse representation at the top can help cultivate authenticity in the marketing and advertising space.
